Battlefield 5 Fully In The Works As DICE Drops CTE Night Maps Support
A new clue about Battlefield 5 being well in development at DICE is now coming from the Battlefield 4 Community Test Environment, where new content for the game are usually tested before being actually released to the general public. We already knew DICE LA has not been working on CTE content for a couple of weeks, since the core part of the team was moved from Star Wars Battlefront to an unannounced project.
Now, we have confirmation that content which was already planned to release soon for Battlefield 4 has been cancelled. Night maps Golmud Railway and Siege of Shanghai were cancelled. Those two maps were tested for a while together with Zavod Graveyard Shift, which was instead fully released.
By the way, by doing this it seems clear DICE sent a message to players: Battlefield 4 additional content won’t be coming anymore since the developer is totally at work on the next installation in the shooter series. Further working on BF4 could be an obstacle at this point, so it is clear we have to say our farewell to it and keep waiting for Battlefield 5 to be officially presented. Maybe a bit before E3 2016? We’ll see.
