London losers win notebook award
Londoners have won recognition for another achievement – they lead the world for leaving their laptops in taxis.
The Register reports these shock findings, based on a survey of 900 taxi drivers. Drivers in the US, Europe and Australia participated in the survey, which showed marked national differences.
“In the last six months in London, 63,135 mobile phones (an average of three phones per taxi), 5,838 PDAs and 4,973 laptops have been left in licensed taxi cabs,” the report reveals.
It adds: “Londoners left more than double the number of laptops in the back of taxis compared with other cities.”
